Solar Pumps

Self Priming Booster
When to Use a Self Priming Pump
John’s advice …
We recommend using a self priming pump when the pump is to be installed above the pool/spa water level and when there is the possibility of debris directly entering the pump.· They are especially suited to applications where the pump will be sucking water directly form the skimmer box, maindrain or any pool/spa floor suctions.
When to Use a Booster (Flooded Suction) Pump
John’s advice …
We recommend using a booster pump (also called a flooded suction pump) for applications where the pump is to be installed below the pool/spa water level and where there is little to no possibility of debris directly entering the pump.· As an option they can be installed after a strainer or filter.· They are used as spa and swimjet pumps and more commonly, solar booster pumps (installed after the filtration system).· This is more common with older pools that do not have seperate solar suction and return lines.
